Dreamy Days and Random Naps by Mawson
Dreams are often described as windows of the soul.
They inspire, propel and most importantly also give us hope.
Hope that Mawson,
the writer bear provides, in spades.
In Dreamy Days and
Random Naps, Mawson takes us on a journey filled with love, warmth and
self-belief.
A delightful picture-book for children and adults, each page
is filled with wondrous, enriching life-lessons.
On the surface the book talks about Mawson and his friends taking
naps and dreaming beautiful dreams. This by itself is amazing as it will rouse the little ones to want to take their naps and get their much needed rest. It
even got insomniac me to take a nap too 😊
It is below the surface that the beauty
of this book is revealed. From a soul searching quest to finding your true self
to being happy with whom you are.
Mawson’s advice to
his friend Scotland the brave, is
etched in my mind and is very pertinent especially in a world that is as
connected as ours where people feel a greater need to conform to fit in.
Scottie dreams of wanting to do mighty deeds so that people talk about and like
him and Mawson turns around and says…
“Or, you could be our very own Scottie just the way we love
you.”
Self-belief, what an important life-lesson that is. We are
good just the way we are. And that’s something that all of us big or small,
need to really believe in.
Mawson’s pondering on creative napping reveals a lot of magical lucid observations that would sure make the world and us happier.
Appreciate the world around us.
So many wonders can happen in a day, that’s why every day is grand.
Fault finder – why do we need to pick faults in others?
Enjoy each and every moment.
Don’t keep changing what you want to do because of others.
And most of all, to always have hope, because when we have
hope we can always aspire to make the hopes come true.
So slow
down and relax a while with Mawson and his friends in their cosy, whimsical
world.
Take a Nap and dream a little dream.
A dream filled with self-love and hope.
So glad I got this RC
it was really fun to read, nap and dream. Hope you liked my fair and honest
review.
Hello Amisha. Thank you for joining in the book tour, and for this marvellous review (full of grand lines to quote - which every writer-bear loves). So glad you saw what was going on with these fun little groups of pictures or "ponders" as Mawson calls them. Yes, he's a bear who just wants niceness and kindness everywhere, and what teddy bear dpesnt'. Thank you for this. (Mark, Mawson's Guardian)
