The Last Shimmer by Sage Hyatt
Ever felt
the life sucked right out of you?
Felt helpless
and surrounded by darkness?
The Last Shimmer by Sage Hyatt is a middle-grade horror story that sucks the joy
out of you. Not like a Vampire but like a Dementor.
Alas, not much can help you, not even chocolate.
The only one who can help you is yourself.
The Last
shimmer is a super scary and creepy metaphorical story resplendently filled with
life lessons from bullying to self-love to mental health. Amazing messages
coming from any writer, but even more awe inspiring when it comes from a teen.
Definitely a writer to look out for.
The story follows the life of Tiger
Lily Dander as she makes her way through the corridors of school life.
Everything changes one morning when a revolution is started by the shadows of
the people of the world. A revolution to eliminate our existing selves.
All around her people start disappearing, Tiger Lily is left all alone except
for her friend Stacy and of course
her shadow Tiger Lily X. The world is
turning dark, all the joy is evaporating.
Can Tiger Lily save the day?
In a battle of Tiger Lily vs. Tiger Lily X who will win?
The answers lie even closer than you think.
A must read for middle-graders this book is actually apt for all age
groups. Leaving you with one of the wonderful lessons from the book.
“There’s
good and bad, light and dark, in each of us. We just have to accept it.”
So glad I got this readers
copy, it was truly magical to read. Hope you liked my fair and honest review.
Happy Reading☺
