Inhale:Exhale-From the Quarters of Quarantine by Dr. Ishan Capoor
Breath.
To breathe is to live. Without the ability to breathe, we
simply will cease to exist.
The first thing we do when we are born - Inhale
The last thing we do when we die - Exhale
Breath is our most precious friend. A BFF of sorts (Best Friend Forever).
It has the power to heal us and the power to destroy as
well.
Inhale:Exhale - From
the Quarters of Quarantine is a book of poems by Dr. Ishan Capoor that reflects and analyses our very complex
relationship with life. The poems are centered around the pandemic and the
experiences garnered through the harrowing journey of being a caregiver at the
forefront of this struggle (Ishan is a
pulmonologist) as well as going through Covid as a patient. Reflections
that are sooooo full of life lessons not just for these trying times but for
our life in general.
Our inner battle to constantly strive for balance is at the
forefront in this collection. A fact brilliantly depicted by the cover design
of a yin-yang with tree roots growing through.
The book is segregated into sections that encompass our life
as a whole. From Self-diagnosis to soul therapy to love prevails. A little bit of something for all the stages
of our life.
The poems are hauntingly brought to life by brilliant black
and white illustrations by Samantha King.
These poems are full of courage; self-love and hope...hope
to conquer all.
Each and every poem guides us along life’s myriad paths from
the Monsters Under Your Bed to One Tall Glass of Life Please to my
absolute favourite Dancers in the Dark.
“When the dancers in
the dark ask for one last dance,
Do you shake a leg
and give them that chance?”
Happy Reading☺
